Sticky Honey and Ginger Chicken Skillet

  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • 3 tbsp honey the runny kind
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp fresh grated or chopped ginger
  • 3 large garlic cloves minced
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/4- 1/2 cup water


  1. Mix together honey, soy sauce, 1 tbsp oil, dijon mustard, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl.
  2. Place inside a ziploc bag with chicken, and mix to coat evenly.
  3. Marinate for at least an hour.
  4. Heat up a skillet to medium high heat, add oil.
  5. Once the skillet is HOT, add chicken. Brown on each side (about 2 minutes per side).
  6. Remove chicken and set aside.
  7. Add onions, more oil if necessary, and a little water if necessary.
  8. Turn the heat down, and sauté onion for around 3-5 minutes.
  9. Add chicken back to the pan, and more water if necessary.
  10. Cover the pan, and allow chicken to simmer for around 15 minutes, or until completely cooked.
  11. Serve with vegetables, over salad, or rice.
