Maple Banana Bread Oatmeal

This maple banana bread oatmeal brings all the cozy flavors of banana bread into a warm, satisfying breakfast. It's easy to make, naturally sweetened, and filled with wholesome ingredients that will keep you full all morning. It's the perfect breakfast for busy weekdays or slow weekend mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk or maybe a combination of the 2
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 banana sliced
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Bring water or milk to a gentle boil in a medium saucepan.
  • Add in salt and rolled oats, turn heat down to medium.
  • While the oats are cooking, add cinnamon.
  • Continue to cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Pour oatmeal into bowl (or bowls).
  • Mix in walnuts and chia seeds.
  • Place bananas on top and drizzle with maple syrup.
  • Add in more cinnamon, or some extra milk to make it creamier.
