Skillet Green Beans with Bacon

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 lb green beans washed and trimmed
  • 2 large cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/2 large lemon juiced
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Begin by heating a large cast iron skillet to medium heat. Once hot, add the bacon (depending on your skillet you may need a bit of oil). Cook until desired crispiness, 3-5 minutes per side. Remove the bacon and grease, reserve 1 tablespoon of grease in the skillet. Bring it back to the stovetop burner.
  • Now add the minced garlic and cook for one minute, then toss in the green beans. Increase the heat to medium high. Continue to flip and stir using tongs. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the beans begin to blister.
  • Add the lemon juice to the pan and remove from heat. Cover the pan with a lid, and let sit for 2-3 minutes or until the green beans are crisp-tender.
  • Top the green beans with bacon and serve hot.
