Apple Maple Pecan Energy Bites are simple to make in less than 15 minutes and only 6 ingredients! This delicious on-the-go snack or lunchbox item tastes like a mini pecan pie but with good for you ingredients. Packed with healthy fats, fiber, and protein with no refined sugar! You can feel great about feeding these to your loved ones or chowing down yourself.

Energy bites……Oh how I love you so! Guess what? So do my kids. Whether it be my Toasted Coconut Latte Energy Bites, Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Bites, or these Apple Maple Pecan Bites, we love having these on hand for lunchbox or afterschool snacks. They also make a quick and easy breakfast for those of you who have a hard time finding something easy to eat in the morning. With hints of fall and back to school time here, this apple-cinnamon/maple combo hits in all the right ways and is one of my favorite apple recipes this season!!
Reasons you will love this snack!
- Only a handful of simple, real-food ingredients: dates, dried apples, pecans, hemp seeds, cinnamon, and maple syrup. That’s it! You can feel good about giving these to your kids.
- These energy bites come together so quickly in about 10 minutes and store well all week!
- As a nutritionist, I love a snack that can satisfy a sweet craving in the healthiest way possible. These energy bites do just that! Hemp seeds and pecans add in some healthy fats, but also pack in protein. The dates and apples are giving us plenty of natural sweetness, and also bump up the fiber content.

How to make these EASY Energy Bites
Here are the only ingredients you need:
- Dried Apples: note that freeze-dried apples do not work in this case. They must be de-hydrated fruit that is soft and can be easily blended in the food processor.
- Dates: buy either pitted dates, or be sure to remove the pit. These help as a binding agent!
- Pecans: you can use any nut here, but I love the apple/pecan combo for the fall. Walnuts and almonds are also great options!
- Hemp seeds: I love hemp seeds as a protein booster. A serving of hemp seeds gives us 10 grams of protein! Sometimes, I also swap out with chia seeds which have less protein, but more fiber (because I just loooove adding chia seeds to recipes like this).
- Maple syrup: this hint of sweetness and the robust earthy flavor of maple syrup pairs so well with apple.
- Cinnamon: is always a nice touch for an apple recipe! Did you know that cinnamon is a great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory food?

This recipe couldn’t be any easier. All we do is toss the ingredients together in a food processor and pulse until a rough “dough” begins to form. It will be sticky, but also still crumbly. When you touch with your fingers, you will be easily able to create small bite sized balls.

Storing
Store these delicious energy bites in an air tight container. They can be stored at room temperature, but I prefer to store mine in the fridge. They stay fresh in the fridge for up to 10 days! These containers are perfect for storing.
