Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie is all the taste of your favorite coffee drink in a blended smoothie and using only wholesome ingredients! So easy, so delish!

Move over Starbucks. Your morning of afternoon is about to get yummy. All in the form of a Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie. Because it’s about to be October, and during these next few months, this is all you need to make your day that more awesome! But this version, it’s much better for your body. Like 2/3 less sugar than your favorite drink. I recently came across the nutrition facts on a Starbucks PSL and it about gave me a heart attack. 50g of sugar?!?!?! We can do much better than that friends!!!

So how about this super simple smoothie to give you that Pumpkin Spice Latte flavor without the junk? Looking at the ingredients in a PSL from Starbucks is quite frightening. I’ve used a banana and a bit of real maple syrup to sweeten it up. Of course the addition of real pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice give this drink that REAL taste of fall that we all love. I also added in a tbsp of hemp seeds for added nutrition, but feel free to omit or use flax or chia seeds. Use a high quality espresso or instant coffee to give this drink that perfect coffee taste!! Finally, a scoop of protein powder can also up the nutritional benefit as a perfect breakfast idea! My favorite protein powder is this one from Life’s Abundance that is a plant based non-GMO protein powder without any artificial flavors or soy protein isolate. It’s creamy and delicious!

I’m sure you have plenty of reasons to open up a can of pumpkin. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, Grain-Free Pumpkin Snickerdoodles, or Smoked Pumpkin Vinaigrette are 3 other ways to use up some canned pumpkin!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or your favorite dairy-free milk
  • 1/4 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 shot espresso or 2 tsp instant coffee granules
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds optional

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth. Serve immediately!
  2. Feel free to add in a scoop of protein powder for added nutrition benefits. My personal favorite protein powder is this one
